heey guys,
so recently I picked up some pine cones from a forest. I only got about 8 because I forgot to pick some up until the end but I got my inspiration for doing this from Meredith's Christmas DIY video. I have already done another DIY post (click here to see my JOY sign).
I wasn't sure how the pine cones would turn out but I think they're ok but Mere's are better.
1) Rinse the pine cones off and let them dry-
otherwise there will be lots of insects etc. in the pine cones. You need to just leave the pine cones then for a day or two because the 'leaves' close up but when they are dry they open back out again.
2) Get all the equipment-
|
You will need: -However many pine cones you want - a paint brush or 2 - white paint -glitter (silver is the best colour but I didn't have that) - Paint palette |
When getting the pine cones, the ones with the 'leaf' bits sticking out more are the best ones to get but any will do.
3) Put white paint on the edge of the 'leaves' of the pine cones-
this is best to do one at a time as the paint might dry.
4) Sprinkle with glitter-
You don't have to do this but you can, get a pinch of whatever colour glitter and sprinkle of the white paint. Then shake off the excess. I think silver looks nicest but I only have purple and blue. I, personally, think they look better just with white paint but I couldn't change it so I suppose it isn't too bad.
5) Now do the same for the rest-
You don't have to do all of them with glitter I have done:
1 Purple
2 Blue
4 white
I also ruined one of the pine cones so now I have 7 but that's ok.
Thank you for reading, it would be lovely if you could follow:)
Do you prefer them with or without glitter?
